In 2015, Hilltop Holdings acquired SWS Group, Inc., Southwest Insurance Agency’s parent company, bringing the Southwest family of companies under the Hilltop umbrella.

In 2022, Southwest Insurance Agency was relaunched as HilltopSecurities Insurance Inc. with the objective of providing a broader set of solutions across the Hilltop Holdings family of companies in order to deepen relationships and enhance the client experience.
